Hot & spicy chicken wings on the braai
When chicken lost its vegetable status, I started doing either chicken wings or chicken breasts. Being so fond of chilli I started doing a LOT of “hot chicken wings”. Some butchers call them “buffalo wings”, others “spicy wings” and there are many other names, but the gist of it is a spicy (often very hot) chicken wing. If you love your chilli as I do, then this is a lekker chicken wing recipe for your your next braai.
Hot Chicken Wings
A straight forward, quick and easy Hot Chicken Wing (aka Buffalo Wings) recipe.

Ingredients
- 24 Chicken Wings
- 1 cup Pineapple Juice
- 2 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
- 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 Habanero diced
- 1/2 tsp Ground Allspice
- Salt & Pepper to taste
How to Braai
- Combine all the ingredients, except the chicken wings, in a small saucepan and bring to the boil and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and pour into a large bowl and allow to cool.
- Add wings to the bowl and place in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
- Braai on a medium heat.
